A short review and pictures of the "Short&Nasty"
By Brent Hoefling AKA RamboPreacher PoG#6- "A Player, Not A Pro"
This Paintgun was developed as an experiment by Craig Palmer to see how short he could make the barrels on a "Nasty". Basically, a Nasty Typhoon Pump with very short barrels.

When I first got home that fateful Monday afternoon, I saw the box and was so
excited, I could hardly contain myself. Anyway - let me first
digress... One day while in a chat in IRC #Paintball with Glenn Palmer
(about 4 years ago), I asked about the possibility of a double barrel PGP type
paint gun that I could use as a "backup" to my Nasty Typhoon, basically
a pump double barrel that was holsterable. The answer was in short -
"Yes, but will be very expensive to prototype". After chatting a
bit more and finding a rough guestimate, I decided to shelf the idea.
Then as if it came out of my own hopes and wishes, I saw a post from Craig Palmer on the Palmers Owners Group Forum, saying that he had made a short barreled Nasty Pump, and that it was for sale in the Classified section of POG. The price was about 1/3 of the price Glenn and I had discussed in the chat about 4 years earlier, and the Gun was described exactly as I had imagined. I jumped all over that post as soon as I saw it, which must have been very shortly after it was posted as there were apparently many others that wanted it. I called Craig and bought it within minutes of reading the post - sight, unseen.
Craig, being the responsible young business man, felt that he needed to tell me about the little scratches and "eccentricities" of the gun before he would sell it. "yea, yea, sure, yup" were my words, yadah, yadah, blah, blah - I didn't care, I wanted that paint gun! I knew that he wouldn't sell it if it didn't actually work. After several more warnings, of loudness and lack of efficiency, I had ordered myself a Short&Nasty.
I knew exactly what I was getting. When It arrived, the first thing I did was cock it and try the trigger, gasless. Just as I had anticipated, the pump is kind of short and a bit hard to hold, and the trigger was sharp and snappy. I loved it already. After screwing a 3.5 oz tank in the back bottle, for looks, since all my 3.5 oz's were empty, I screwed in my 12 gram adaptor. I was warned and I knew not to expect too much, but I was happily surprised. I loaded 6 balls each into the feeders (the gates held them in), and shot all six times - 12 balls. actually shot 8 times, but the first was dry as I had to cock the gun (no balls) to screw in the tank. Then shot the 6 times and the last time there was not enough pressure so the rest of the air leaked out the barrel(s). So I know that for very portability, I can load the feed tubes with the 12 balls and use the 12 gram adaptor. Though I will probably use 3.5 oz tanks most of the time.

Loud, LOUD, LOUD, yes it is loud. very loud, but hay - I knew it was going to be. I can't wait till I can actually use this one on the recreational play fields!

Conclusion:
The pump handle is small and I need to get used to cocking the gun with
it. Efficiency Sucks, and it is really loud. I love this gun!
it is at least as accurate as my PCPGP
(Palmerized, Custom PGP). And it is very intensely intimidating. I am very
satisfied with the gun even though I was forewarned of it's
eccentricities. Kudos' to Craig Palmer. I will have more pictures as
I get them developed. The two above are ones taken by Craig with his new
Digital Camera. The "gold-ish" tone or coloring was reflective
of the wood background when he took the pictures. It is actually a very
nice nickel plate, matt finish with polished nickel grip frame.
Thanks
