Some common paintball myths
1. The higher the F.P.S. the better!
Not true according to top airgunsmiths. Beyond 300 FPS, you may
actually lose accuracy. The added velocity usually causes paintballs to
become unstable in flight and may cause the balls to spin, thus making
them curve. Also, the force on the ball is generally too great for
the shell to handle, deforming the ball and making for inaccurate
shots.
2. You need a lot of experience to have fun!
Not true. Just ask any of the thousands of people who have just begun
to play. Paintball is fun at any level of play from beginner to
advanced.
3. The sport is for militaristic men only!
Definitely not true! People of all ages from 16 to 60 (and older!) play
paintball. Men and women, executives, students, lawyers, construction
workers, just about any type of person you can think of!
4. You can only play paintball outdoors!
Again, definitely not true! There are indoor paintball arenas popping
up all over the country. They offer a variety of playing scenarios
including speedball, obstacle courses and even miniature towns. They
are usually open evenings and on weekends.
